"I've Written About Loads of Scams. This One Almost Got Me. The caller ID said “Chase Bank,” and the man on the line said I might be a victim of fraud. His supervisor would explain."

----------------------------------------- Maybe this kind of scam wouldn't have pushed your buttons. Perhaps you've had enough recent cybersecurity training to know that if you get a call supposedly from your bank, or any bank, that your next action would be to hang up and call your bank directly, or better yet, get in the car and drive over to your local branch for an in person chat. If so, then such a scammer will have no luck with you. But scammers play a numbers game. They'll move on to the next target. They're not simply looking for the gullible but also the busy, the distracted, the uninformed, and the anxious.
